Build a DIY RFID Smart Lock Using Arduino

in5_tech_application
When: 12 Jan 2019 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) is technology that allows digital data to be encoded into smart labels/tags and easily read using radio waves. Once the domain of industry and research, RFID has become very affordable and available to hobbyists now, though still requiring skill and knowledge to deploy for real life projects.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to build your own door lock secured by RFID technology and how RFID works in different scenarios. This can easily be customized for several practical scenarios. All materials (including Arduinos, RFID tags, card readers etc) will be provided, just bring your laptop to code the Arduino. This will be a special guest workshop by Judhi Prasetyo, CTO of Gulfware International and Lecturer at Middlesex University, and a long time member of the Assembly.
