Sophie Boutros graduated with a Bachelor degree in Directing for TV and Film at the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts in Lebanon, in 1997. For twenty years, Sophie has been directing shows, promotional videos, music videos, and most recently a feature film, which she also co-wrote.
Sophie directed the highly acclaimed feature film Mahbas (Solitaire), which made waves of success, was watched by more than 120,000 viewers around the Arab world and is still touring the world in festivals. It premiered at the Dubai International Film Festival 2016 and released in Lebanon, Syria, UAE, Jordan, Palestine and Kuwait in Spring 2017.
Tarek is a serial entrepreneur, active mentor & angel investor serving on the board of many startups in the region. He has founded and managed media / technology companies including Connect Ads across MENA, exiting his first startup, CareerMidEast.com in 2000. Driven by his passion for the startup ecosystem he founded Dubai Angel Investors (DAI), a member based angel network supporting the startup ecosystem in MENA, where he serves as board member and permanent member of the Investment Committee. Amongst his ventures Tarek founded Zanad the leading animation studio in the MENA region.
